This question is a bit hard to answer because I have so many others that are up there for the lessons they taught me or for their cultural impact (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Spongebob Squarepants, etc.), but if I had to choose one cartoon, it would have to be because of the impact it had on me growing up. So… I have to say it’s Courage the Cowardly Dog. That cute, pink dog has influenced me so much because I could relate with how he saw the world. Ironically named Courage, he met a lot of the foreign outside influence with fear. Strangers were scary. But he would always gather his namesake courage when it came to protecting the ones he loves. He taught me it was okay to be afraid, to never lose empathy and kindness, to stand up for others even if scary people oppose you.
I have found that I become braver for those I love, and I think it’s because of Courage.
